🧭adda-outing

what it is. "adda" is a bengali word for a long, unhurried chat — the kind that spills into a walk, a coffee, a second coffee, a third. adda-outing is a tiny app for planning those, without the usual group-chat chaos.

why i built it

group chats are where good plans go to die. by the time you've polled everyone about who's free, someone's gone quiet, someone else has made different plans, and the whole thing collapses. i wanted a single link: "here's a thing, tap if you're in, tap if you're out."

what i learned

  • social products are a cold-start problem before they're a product. the app is only ever as useful as the three friends you can convince to try it once.
  • friction is a feature. the small nudge of a single tap beats the perfect form-filling ux. less is always more in social.
  • latency is emotion. if the "yes i'm in" tap doesn't feel instant, people stop tapping. i rewrote the state layer twice for this.
